The Travel Treadmill is a durable, portable and lightweight treadmill designed specifically for people requiring regular exercise of their feet and lower limbs; but for whatever reason are unable to use traditional 'standing' treadmills.
Its portability means it's ideal for travellers too. Now, no matter where you go, you can achieve a walking motion without even leaving your seat.
The high quality, easy-glide, 'gentle-on-your-feet' rollers make the task of exercising your feet an absolute joy.
The Travel Treadmill is an idea that came to Evelyn Purcell, a pensioner living in rural NSW, in 2000 after her husband Charles was hospitalised with a brain tumour. Charles developed Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in his legs because of the long periods he was confined to bed. Evelyn wanted to help people in this siutation and drew up plans for a machine that would do the job. The machine, the 'Travel Treadmill' consists of freely moving wheels fitted with roller bearings and covered by durable rubber belts.
Evelyn says, "The Travel Treadmill" could also benefit office workers or any person who needs to spend hours sitting.
Mrs. Purcell was featured with her invention on the Australian ABC-TV show, 'The New Inventors' in 2004.
